Raising Money for Charity
There is nothing more that we like doing than raising money for charity (and building and restoring buildings), and our teams really surpassed themselves at the end of last year with their efforts. In recognition of that, we have just received a lovely message from Macmillan Cancer Support. Our guys took part in a sponsored beard growing competition and managed to raise a fantastic £10,207, and that is thanks to all of the generous people who sponsored them.
The last 14 months since the outbreak of Covid and the first lockdown, have been really difficult for charities, many of whom rely heavily on their charity shops and fundraising events for funds. As the shops were closed, events stopped and opportunities for volunteering stopped, it put huge strain on the charities – and at a time when people needed support more than ever. We are so grateful to everyone who has sponsored our teams over the years and helped us to give back a little. The lovely people at Macmillan Cancer Support sent us the “thank you” note below, which shows what the money we raised, with your help, can achieve.
We also raised £5462 for our local charity, Royal Trinity Hospice at the end of last year, and are currently raising money for them again with a sponsored Get Fit for Summer. Our runners have had a whooping start and have already reached our fundraising target. Please keep the charity flow going and please sponsor our runners: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/szeremleygetfitforsummer
