Shortlisted for Business Charity Awards 2022
At the beginning of 2022, the Royal Trinity Hospice notified us that they wanted to put us forward in partnership with them for the Business Charity Awards 2022 because of all the work we have done together. They nominated us, and we are proud to say that we have made it to the shortlist! Have a look at the video highlighting our work with the hospice. The awards take place on the 19th of May 2022. Wish us Luck!
Our relationship with the Hospice started in May 2020, at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. Although they are based not far from us, we actually did not know much about them until that point. When supplies of PPE fell short with the outbreak of Covid-19, RTH reached out to us, and we were able to donate all of the face masks we had in stock to them.
Fast forward to November, some of us were back in the office part time which meant we could do some fundraising. We regularly partake in Movember at head office, so the moustaches started to grow, and the fundraising began. We managed to raise £5,462 for the Hospice through our Just Giving page.
Another lockdown occurred which halted our efforts temporarily. Stress Awareness month (April 2021) was coming up, and we wanted to incorporate some fundraising into our stress busting that could be done at home. We came up with the idea for a ‘get fit for summer’ competition. We challenged our staff to run either a 5k or 10k. The fastest run, and the biggest fundraiser got a prize for their efforts. For this event we raised £1,058 for the hospice.
We became one of the Hospice’s Local Business Heroes during the Autumn of 2021 and began our volunteering at their Pimlico store in October. We have since undertaken regular volunteering at the store and have allocated regular volunteering for the rest of the year.
