Rock Hard!!
One of our team, Grant Smith, took to the open roads at the weekend to run a daunting Ultra Marathon from Stroud in Gloucestershire to Broadway Tower in Worcestershire. The gruelling race, all 53 miles of it took place over two days, with Day One a sizzling 26 degrees making it especially tough. Day two was slightly more forgiving with a bit of cloud cover, but we use the term slightly in the loosest possible way! Grant came a brilliant 45th out of 423 starters in 12 hours and 17 minutes.
A real glutton for punishment, this is Grant’s 3rd Ultra Marathon. Not content with this, he is now entered in the 55 mile Race to the Stones event next month, following the historic path from the Chilterns to the North Wessex Downs. One of the highlights of Grant’s latest Ultra was bumping into Sue Barker, TV presenter and former tennis legend out walking her dog . . .
