Szerelmey were contracted to supply and install the external Portland Roach stone fins to the new Salisbury District Council Offices. The fins are set onto steel and project from the floors on a cantilevered slab. Given the slenderness of the fins, the Szerlemey design team had to overcome the tolerance of fixing stone to the 11.5m steel structures as well as a very high level of live load deflection of over 50mm, from the wind. We also installed the Jura paving along the colonnades using stone panels with a bush hammered and gratinated finish for slip resistance.
