Szerelmey undertook all the internal stone work in the large reception areas, lobbies and lift atriums in two separate commercial buildings in Regent’s Place. The flooring element of the project involved laying 40mm thick Travertine panels with a 4mm joint and colour-matched grout. We installed brushed stainless steel skirting to the perimeter of the internal areas using a pre-curved timber backing structure to which 1mm thick stainless steel was attached. Szerelmey installed large panels of 40mm thick Jura stone to the walls, fixed individually, supported and restrained back to the secondary steel work.

Stainless steel pins were attached to the front of the panels and slender solid Jura fins attached back to these in such a way to hide all the vertical joints of the backing panels. The fins are tapered to emulate a “peeled orange” effect. Due to the complexity of the fins each piece was individually numbered and dry laid before being installed.
In building B we installed travertine flooring, one wall of curved travertine panels, and one wall of 70mm thick British slate panels.
