Business as Usual – Almost
Szerelmey remains open for business as ‘almost’ usual. Our teams are all working remotely and our IT set up, although a scramble to get going so quickly, is working really well – a big thank you to our IT Support who have been brilliant. Our Estimating and Sales teams are extremely busy, which is a positive sign for the way things will go when we are able to get back to normal life. Meetings are being held using Teams and so far only one person has been caught out wearing pyjamas (bottom half), and one person wearing nothing at all (top half) …!
A small number of our sites are safely working with reduced crews and our Contracts Managers and QSs are busy working with our Clients, Main Contractors and H&S department pulling together risk assessments, logistics and financials to enable a safe and timely return to more sites just as soon as we possibly can.
These are strange and awful times for everyone, and we are so grateful to all of the amazing NHS workers, carers and many other unsung heroes who are keeping the country going. We were pleased to be able to donate our face masks to Trinity Hospice in Clapham and our thoughts go out to the residents and staff here and across the country, particularly to the elderly, isolated and vulnerable.
This will end and life and business will resume in full force judging by our current enquiries. Szerelmey is ready, we are busy, working and looking towards brighter times ahead.
