The new Library of Birmingham is an award winning building, shortlisted for the RIBA Stirling Prize 2014 and winner of a RIBA National and RIBA Regional award. Szerelmey carried out a varied works package on the building including installing the Portland basebed limestone curved fascia and soffit to the sunken amphitheatre. In addition we laid upper level paving and installed seating and steps constructed from Crosland Hill Yorkstone with Zimbabwe Negro nosing to the steps. Szerelmey also carried out the surface build up concrete works and associated concealed stainless steel drainage system installation.
